Water Treatment Plant

Back to Projects

Completed in 2009, this multi million dollar project involved Greyback, the City of Penticton and Earth Tech Aecom updating the Plant while keeping it in full operation. Goals were to increase plant capacity, replace equipment that has passed its life cycle and employ a number of eco-friendly processes.

Peak plant capacity was increased by 47% from 60,000,000 L/day to 88,000,000 L/day and to better allow for the treatment of highly coloured Penticton Creek as well as low turbidity Okanagan Lake water. These dual water sources provide the City of Penticton with an excellent supply, capacity and operational flexibility.
