Black Hills Winery

At the winery, Greyback built a 4000 sq ft barrel storage building of precast walls and structural steel roof which is joined to the existing winery by a new breezeway. Careful attention was paid tying the new construction into the existing building, creating the look that all structures were built at the same time.

The north end of the building was backfilled to allow vines to be planted close to the building.

A new tasting building and wine shop, the “Wine Experience Centre”, was also constructed nearby offering expansive views of the vineyards and valley below.

The structure covers 1560 sq ft of precast walls with a structural steel roof and 1700 sq ft of covered decks, retaining walls and stairs down to the water feature which provides a cooling effect on hot summer days. Extensive landscaping and glass railings around the patio add to the feeling of being immersed in the vineyard!
