This was one of the first P3 projects completed in B.C. and was therefore under constant scrutiny for quality and schedule by government agencies and financial partners. In order to meet the requirements, many innovations in construction technology occurred which resulted in Greyback being awarded the Canadian Construction Association Innovation Award.

Initially, Greyback Construction, Emil Anderson Construction and Vancouver Pile Driving formed a consortium to design/build/finance the new Okanagan Lake Bridge.

As the P3 Project developed, SNC Lavalin was brought on board to lead the team because of their strong financial abilities and project management experience.

Greyback remained involved to provide scheduling, budgeting and local construction knowledge to help the P3 Team make informed decisions assuring the planning process and throughout project execution.

After the provincial government awarded the project, Greyback assumed the role of concrete constructor, building the pontoons and piers. During the project, design details changed resulting in extreme pressures to ensure the project was on budget and time.

Greyback achieved completion three months ahead of schedule.

Our experience with this project has propelled us into a leadership role in quality management and reporting procedures.
